Law Enforcement
for Youth is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization.
We bring law enforcement and members of the community
together to form our unpaid Board of Directors and
volunteer group. The Board of Directors drive
our organization to strive in improving and expanding
current events as well as constantly seeking additional
ways of raising funds for those in need.
In
early 2003, the MCLEA
/ Schutt Sports Pig Bowl coordinators recognized
that many other youth and youth programs were in need of
assistance. With the current format, they were unable to
assist youth or youth programs outside of the Boys &
Girls Club without another non-profit

acting
as a host. The desire to have the ability to help other youth programs
and provide direct assistance to low income and at risk youth who
want to participate in school or other programs led to the founding
of Law Enforcement for Youth.
The
formation of Law Enforcement
for Youth
has allowed for the expansion
of new fundraising activities, including
golf and basketball tournaments, auctions, educational seminars,
dances and concerts.
The funds raised under the new organization are used to establish
grant programs. Grants are made available to at-risk, low income,
and medically challenged youth and programs that serve them. Individuals
can apply for mini grants to
assist in the expense of participation fees for youth activities
and youth organizations can apply for project grants to aid in specific
youth programs.
Law
Enforcement for Youth will continue to assist in providing opportunities
to those youth who may not otherwise receive them. It
is our firmest belief that
every child has a right for the opportunity to succeed. Our youth
are our best investment in the future. We look forward to your
support of our efforts in providing these opportunities.
